Happy St. George’s Day

BY HARGREAVES

hargHi Sports Fans, I'm Owen Hargreaves, Im canadianish soccer player and translator  for Engerlands soccer team and today is Engerlands speshul day.

One of the best things about being inklish is getting the chance to celebrate St. Geogies Day every April 23rd. Not many people know about the traditions and customs that happen on the day, so I thought I'd let you guys in on some of the action. First though, some history;

St. George is a Knight from the olden days. One day while riding around on his horse and ravishing fair maidens he spotted a dragon up to no good. St. George wasn't happy about this, the dragon looked french. So St. George slew the dragon and then carried on his merry way. F**king sweet!

Anyway this is what I'm going to be doing today;

tea

First things first guys. f**king proper breakfast! Coz it's a special day, you gotta have a proper breakfast. This morning I had Scones with cream and jam and a pot of tea. F**king sweet.

mori

With all that cream and jam inside you its time to do a bit of the old morris dancing. Alot of the lads in the Engerland team don't like to do this, as the say it makes them look a bit Noncy. Me and Peter Crouch love it though and really get into the spirit of things. Wayne Rooney also likes to morris dance but can be a bit violent with the stick bashing. F*kking idiot

burn

Next up is a spot of Witch Burning. Of course in this day and age we don't burn any witches for real, instead we dress someone up in a witch costume and throw apples at them. This year it's my turn to dress up. F**king sweet.

ale
Into the afternoon now and its time for some Real Ale. Inklish real ale is not like your usual continental larger like i drink in munich. Real ale has to be flat, brown, warm and have a f**king weird name. It took me a while to get into real ale i tell you, it tastes f**king weird. But I have some favourites now. I like "Sticky Bishops Head", "Old Badgers Arseface" and "Strumpets Fillyknickers"

hol
Into the evening now and what could be traditional and Inklish than a good old fashioned spot of hooliganism? f**king ace!

Well I hope you learnt something about English Culture, Happy St. Georgies Day to you all !

f**king marvelous
